Picnic at Bluebell Meadow
Take Germantown Avenue up to Cresheim Valley Drive. Turn left at Cresheim Valley Drive. Picnic pavilion is on the left.
Getting to Carpenter’s Woods for Birdwatching
Carpenter’s Woods are bounded by Wissahickon Avenue to the west, Sedgwick Street to the south, S. Mt. Pleasant Road to the east, and N. Mt. Pleasant Road to the north. Entryways onto the trails of Carpenter’s Woods are located on each of those roads.
Getting to Livezey Rock for Rock Climbing
Head NW on Wissahickon Avenue until it dead ends at W. Allens Lane. Turn right on W. Allens Lane and immediately turn left at Livezey Lane (park here if you can!). Walk all the way down Livezey Lane, staying left at all turns. The main rock and small rock are at the bottom of the hill, overlooking the creek.
Getting to Thomas Mansion for Sledding
At the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Wissahickon Avenue, head NW approximately 3/10 of a mile. Thomas Mansion is on the right.
Getting to Thomas Mill Road Covered Bridge for Fishing
From Germantown Avenue, turn SW onto W. Chestnut Hill Ave. After .5 miles, turn right onto Towanda Street.
Getting to the Valley Green for Duck Feeding
From Germantown Avenue, turn onto W. Allens Lane. Turn right onto McCallum Street. Turn left onto Wolcott Drive. Turn left onto Valley Green Road. Head down the road and cross the creek; parking is available just across the bridge.
