Mt. Airy Art Garage’s 3rd Annual Art Auction Gala
The Mt. Airy Art Garage, a creative center for emerging and professional artists in Northwest Philadelphia, will host its 3rd Annual Art Auction Gala on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 6-10PM at their new home at 11 West Mt. Airy Ave.
This year’s Silent Auction will showcase over 45 of the Northwest’s most accomplished artists such as Ellen Benson, Melvin Chappell, Robert Finch, Andrea Abrams Herbert, Sol Levy, Amir Lyles, Paula Mandel, Kathy Robinson, Diana Trout, and a host of others. The Gallery will feature both 2 and 3-dimensional work ranging from sculpture to photography, fine art, and crafts. In addition to an array of artwork, the silent auction will also feature jewelry, gift certificates, and services/classes by artists expert in their disciplines. Each year, the auction expands its array of fine art and handcrafts and attracts an even more diverse crowd of artists and art-lovers. This year’s no exception.
Join them on Saturday, September 22nd, for their most fabulous evening of friends, fun, and incredible art. Plus, with live music by The Passage Jazz Band and food from Hershel’s East Side Deli at Reading Terminal, who can resist art for such a good cause?
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Mt. Airy Art Garage Building Fund and facilitate the completion of their Artist Studios.
Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to preview the auctioned work. They'll be toasting the artists at the preview, Friday, September 7 from 6–8 pm as their work will be exhibited in the Solomon Levy Gallery. The preview will continue Thurs–Sat., noon – 6 pm and Sunday, noon–5 pm leading right up to the event itself.
